BlueWave is hiring an Instrument Fitter for an aerospace organization in Central Florida. As an Instrument Fitter, you will fabricate, assemble, and install tubing, piping, conduit, and related supports for an onsite industrial construction project. This position requires precise workmanship, strong safety practices, and the ability to perform in demanding outdoor conditions.
Responsibilities
- Measure, lay out, bend, and install stainless steel tubing ranging from ¼ inch to 1 inch.
- Assemble piping systems using flanges, mechanical connectors, and threaded or compression fittings.
- Install structural supports, pipe frames, channel support systems, and concrete anchors.
- Use torque wrenches, magnetic drills, tube-fabrication equipment, and other hand and power tools.
- Maintain system cleanliness and follow foreign-object-debris prevention practices throughout installation.
- Perform work at elevated heights and operate applicable material-handling and access equipment safely.
Requirements
- At least five years of relevant instrument fitting, tube fabrication, or industrial pipe installation experience.
- Proficiency with layout and measurement tools, including tape measures, squares, levels, and plumb bobs.
- Experience producing clean, accurate bends in stainless steel tubing.
- Experience installing common industrial tube and pipe fittings and creating secure, leak-resistant connections.
- Experience assembling bolt-together piping systems and installing pipe supports.
- Qualification or demonstrated ability to meet requirements for fall protection, aerial lifts, and forklifts.
- Ability to work onsite and outdoors in demanding weather conditions.
