The Instructor will conduct advanced research in the Rosenbaum lab. The lab focuses on the structural and functional analyses of G protein coupled receptors and proteins involved in cholesterol homeostasis.
This candidate will elucidate cryo-EM structures of important lipid regulatory proteins by single particle cryo-EM. Following structure determination, the candidate will carry out assays and structure-guided mutagenesis to investigate the importance of different aspects of the structure to protein function. Responsibilities include recombinant protein expression and purification, mammalian cell propagation, single-particle cryo-EM data collection and structure determination, model building, and various functional assays. The Instructor will work collaboratively with other lab members to contribute to data acquisition, analysis, and interpretation to drive forward projects in the lab.
This candidate is expected to have extensive experience in protein biochemistry and structural and functional analyses of macromolecules. The candidate will be expected to have a Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biophysics, or a related discipline.
