Position Information
Job Title Instructor of Social & Human Services (9 months) Job Description
The Social & Human Services instructor must be a dynamic, student-centered educator responsible for the planning, selection, organization, implementation, supervision, facilitation, and evaluation of the total learning experience of Social & Human Services students. The instructor will contribute to student success through teaching, advising, curriculum development, community engagement, program recruitment, and partnership development with human service agencies throughout the college service area.

Work is primarily performed under general supervision in the classroom, laboratory, office, healthcare, and clinical environments with appropriate climate controls. Travel between campuses, healthcare facilities, and community locations may be required. Evening and weekend work may be necessary to support instructional schedules and workforce training needs.

Essential functions: Positions require lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate effectively, ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods, and ability to move between classrooms, labs, and clinical sites. Must be able to demonstrate and assist with healthcare-related procedures requiring fine motor skills and physical coordination.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting only occasionally, walking and standing are required regularly, incumbents may be required to kneel, crouch/squat, crawl, climb, stoop, turn/twist, balance, reach, or handle.
Mental Application: Requires memory for details and content of assigned healthcare disciplines, critical thinking, adaptability, emotional stability, problem-solving, instructional planning, organizational skills, and effective decision-making.
Salary Grade Salary Salary Range: $48,600 to $58,000 based on education and experience in accordance with the college salary plan.
