Position Summary
Instructors play a key role in the success of Jean Madeline Institute. Instructors educate, guide, and mentor students while ensuring they understand and successfully apply the curriculum, technical skills, and professional standards required by the Institute and applicable state and federal regulations.
Essential Job Functions
Including but not limited to:
- Uphold and demonstrate the Jean Madeline Mission and Values.
- Educate, coach, and mentor students according to their individual learning needs and development.
- Teach and reinforce technical, theoretical, professional, and business concepts consistent with Institute curriculum and standards.
- Support student attendance, retention, professional development, and overall success.
- Maintain a positive, professional, and supportive learning environment.
- Explain, uphold, and enforce student performance, conduct, and behavior standards.
- Ensure guest services are performed safely, professionally, and in accordance with educational and service standards.
- Maintain accurate student records and complete required daily and monthly reports.
- Stay current with industry standards, educational practices, and applicable regulations, and continually develop teaching skills.
- Serve as a positive role model and represent the Institute professionally.
Education, Experience & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Active professional license appropriate to the program taught.
- Active instructor license appropriate to the program taught.
- Salon, spa, or beauty industry experience preferred.
- Previous teaching experience preferred, but not required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional, polished appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
