The Department of JSU Global/Division of Research Economic Development at Jackson State University is accepting applications for its Instructor, ESL Program. Examples of Duties:
Provides in classroom and virtual instruction, assessment of language abilities, and academic advisement for the ESL program. Writes and administers diagnostic exams to assess proper placement within the ESL program. Creates new courses, recruits' students, plans and facilitates educational and cultural programming. Clerical duties as assigned in support of the daily function of JSUGlobal.
Typical Qualifications Strong command of another language other than English preferred (not required). Advanced coursework in foreign language teaching and applied methodology. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Ability to plan and facilitate cultural programming for ESL students both on and off campus. Minimum of two years teaching experience.
