Description:
Provide hands-on instruction and technical training in building systems, including HVAC and electrical to prepare individuals to be successful in incorporating building construction and maintenance technologies in the workplace.
Essential Functions:
Deliver curriculum aligned with industry standards, foster a positive learning environment, and support student success through applied learning and skill development.
Deliver engaging and effective instruction in residential and commercial building construction, with a strong focus on:
HVAC systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning)
Basic electrical systems (wiring, circuits, troubleshooting)
Utilize hands-on training methods, demonstrations, and real-world scenarios to support student learning.
Maintain current and relevant course materials, training equipment, and safety practices.
Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback to support skill mastery and job readiness.
Stay informed of trends, codes, and technologies related to building maintenance and trades
Collaborate with instructional staff, industry partners, and administrators to ensure program quality.
Support students in career development and job placement when appropriate.
Maintain appropriate records including attendance, assessments, and compliance documentation.
Participate continuously in professional development activities related to assigned embedded industry focus area(s) to assure that technical and industry knowledge remains current with changes, improvements and enhancements in automated systems and related fields.
Exercise discretion and independent judgment in making decisions regarding the provision of services to internal and external customers and in day-to-day operations of the department. Interpret and implement policies in a manner consistent with the interests of the District. Provide advice and consultation to executive management as requested. Investigate and resolve issues as needed, represent the department and District in a professional manner to all.
Perform all other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

Education:
Bachelors degree or, high school diploma with equivalent experience in a related field.
Salary Schedule:
SPMS
Hiring Range:
$59,263 - $75,651 dependent on experience, plus additional $9,900 annual compensation for salary-in-lieu of dependent benefit coverage.
