Job Summary/Basic Function
Indiana State University's Thompson Thrift Department of Construction Management is seeking applications for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor or Multi-Year Contract Instructor. Duties include undergraduate courses in the Construction Management Degree Program. This is a nine-month position with the possibility of summer teaching assignments.
Specific Responsibilities
Reporting to the Chair of the Department, this position will teach, research, and provide service to the Department.
The successful candidate will actively contribute to continuing program development, collaborate with colleagues, and engage with students to promote curriculum in areas of construction management. Teach related topics in an intensively active, outcomes-based learning environment in which innovative pedagogy, timely curriculum, creative assignments, and excellence in student work is paramount. Continuous improvement of course materials in on-campus sections must be replicated through Indiana State University's highly regarded online program.
Teaching responsibilities may include undergraduate courses in any of the following courses:
For the Tenure Track position additional duties include serving on university committees, curriculum development, academic advisement and performing appropriate scholarly research and professional service within the guidelines of the University.
Required Relevant Education & Experience
Instructor rank: Master's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or Technology Management (construction focused), Project Management (construction focused), Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or closely related field, and three years of experience or a bachelor's degree in the construction management, civil engineering, civil engineering technology, architectural engineering, or engineering with focus on civil with ten years of experience in the domestic United States or Canadian construction industry. At least one degree must be in construction management, civil engineering or architectural engineering.
Tenure Track rank: PhD in Construction Management, Engineering or Technology Management (construction focused), Project Management (construction focused) or Business Administration (construction focused), Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering. ABD will be considered but PhD must be earned by 2027 spring semester.
A foreign educational equivalent is acceptable.
