Position Description
This position is responsible for providing effective instruction in assigned courses.
Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described.
Responsible for creating optimum learning environment
Maintains office hours
Actively participate in the creation and improvement of departmental processes and procedures
Collaborate with student success initiatives
Selects texts and continually reviews new texts
Involved in curricular changes and program development
Reviews changes in course documentation
Participates in graduation exercises
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of area human support services
Experience with Blackboard an on line teaching tool, is preferred.
Able to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning
Good organizational skills
Innovative, creative, motivated and work well with others
Ability to exhibit good interpersonal skills
Able to maintain records accurately and able to meet deadlines consistently
Able to perform normal duties with minimal supervision
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrate resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential
Requirements:
Masters Degree in a Human Services related field

Preferences:
At least two years of experience working in the human services field
Experience in gerontology
Current license and/or certification in Human Services discipline
Post-Secondary teaching experience
