Bullitt Central High School is seeking a highly qualified instructional tutor to provide supports across content areas (reading, writing, and math interventions, carryover supports to science and social studies) to students in tiered interventions for behavior and/or academics. The successful candidate must be:

Position Details

Hours: 6 hours per day (plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch)

Contract Length: 183 days per year

  • 170 student instructional days
  • 4 holidays
  • 7 planning days
  • 2 extended days

Contract Adjustments: Contracted days will be prorated based on the start date

Employment Status: Full-time with benefits

Employment Type: 10-month employee on the classified pay schedule

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Must have at least 64 college credits and a 2.5 GPA.
  • Documentation: Candidates must provide proof of educational requirements to HR upon recommendation for hire.

Compensation & Experience Credit

2026-2027 Pay Scale

  • Starting Pay (Step 0): $24.63/hour
  • Experienced Pay (Step 10): $26.97/hour

We value experience!

Previous experience working with students, intervention systems, and small-group instruction is strongly desired.

New hires may bring up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience.

  • The hired applicant is responsible for submitting the BCPS Verification of Experience Form to prior employers for completion and return to HR.

Payroll Note: While this is an hourly position, the salary is distributed via a year-long contract over 10 months. You will receive 4 paychecks at the end of June.

Salary Formula: Hours per day × Hourly rate = Daily rate <> Daily rate × Contracted days = Annual salary. <> Annual salary ÷ Remaining pay periods = Gross biweekly pay
