POSITION
SUMMARY
The
Instructional
Technology/STEM
Coordinator
reports
directly
to
the
STEM
Director
and
is
critical
to
ensuring
that
the
district
is
enabling
equitable
outcomes
for
all
children.
Provides
program
leadership
and
coordination
for
ESD
159
instructional
technology/STEM
use
in
collaboration
with
the
Technology,
Teaching
and
Learning
departments
with
the
goal
of
integrating
technology/STEM
to
accelerate
learning
outcomes
and
preparation
for
student's
achievement
and
support
staff
needs.
ORGANIZATIONAL
RELATIONSHIPS

ESSENTIAL
DUTIES
AND
RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
Assists
in
orientation
and
specific
training
of
new
teaching
staff
regarding
effective
technology
integration.
2.
Conducts
regular
classes
in
the
STEAM
Center
with
grades
PK-8.
3.
Assist
with
the
District's
technology
help
desk.
4.
Assists
District
and
School
educators
in
planning,
implementing,
and
evaluating
effective
use
of
technology
for
adults
and
students
in
a
standards-aligned,
rigorous
and
differentiated
PK
-
8
instructional
programs.
5.
Must
possess
knowledge
of
curriculum
and
instructional
design;
strong
foundation
in
pedagogy
and
teaching
methodologies;
skills
in
integrating
technology
and
STEM
with
curriculum;
experience
with
learning
management
systems;
ability
to
articulate
and
adapt
communication
and
presentation
style
for
various
audiences.

Direct
remote
application
delivery.
7.
Disseminate
technology-related
information
throughout
the
district
via
news
bulletins,
electronic
main,
presentations
at
district
and
building
level
staff
meetings,
etc.
8.
Ensures
the
inclusion
of
State
of
Illinois
technology
learning
requirements
for
digital
safety
and
other
required
topics
are
incorporated
meaningfully
into
the
curriculum.
9.
Evaluate
and
recommend
hardware
and
non-educational
software
upon
request.
10.
Help
the
district
to
develop
and
implement
plans
for
the
acquisition
and
maintenance
of
hardware
and
software
including
the
existing
software.
11.
Identifies
and
implements
flexible
learning
models
to
educators
to
access
learning
in
just
in
time
manner.
Connect
students
and
teachers
to
relevant
information
related
to
the
use
of
software
to
improve
teaching
and
student
learning.
12.
Works
with
the
STEM
Director
to
highlight
STEM
activities/projects
and
to
promote
STEM
awareness.
13.
Works
with
the
STEM
Director
to
collaborate
with
community
groups
and
organizations
to
further
promote
STEM
in
the
classroom
and
beyond
the
school
day.

create
a

Education

Assistant
Superintendent
in
an
advisory
capacity
concerning
instructional
software
and
hardware
recommendations

Performs
any
other

as
assigned
by
the
STEM
Director,
Assistant
Superintendent
of
Teaching,
Learning
and
Accountability,
and/or
Superintendent.
25.
Collaborating
with
the
STEM
Director,
they
will
Lead
the
development
of
an
innovative
STEM
program,
including
the
design
and
oversight
of
related
learning
spaces.
26.
Develop,
implement,
and
manage
the
district's
social
media
and
engages
in
content
strategy.

EDUCATION
AND
EXPERIENCE
Minimum
bachelor's
degree
in
education/Instructional
Technology/Science
or
related
field
from
an
accredited
college
or
university.
Master's
preferred
Successful
experience
in
a
K-8
environment,
hands-on
experience
integrating
technology
in
classrooms,
education
technology
environment,
STEM
curriculum
design
and
implementation,
developing
and
delivering
technology
training
to
adult
learners,
and
strong
organizational,
communication,
and
interpersonal
skills
Professional
Educator
License.
