The coordinator works with teachers, administrators, and students to integrate digital tools, innovative instructional strategies, and media resources that enhance teaching and learning. This role rotates among schools to support literacy, instructional technology integration, artificial intelligence (AI) awareness, digital citizenship, and access to print and digital resources, while collaborating with school and district leaders to ensure effective digital learning aligned to the North Carolina Standard Course of Study and district priorities. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    1. Provide instructional leadership across assigned schools to implement a comprehensive school library media program informed by state and national standards, develop and manage a learner-centered collection of print and digital resources that directly support curriculum, strengthen digital teaching and learning practices and support the effective integration of instructional technology into classroom instruction.
    2. Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to design and implement lessons that integrate instructional tools, emerging technologies, and innovative instructional strategies aligned with curriculum standards.
    3. Champion literacy and lifelong learning by connecting students with engaging instructional media, building relationships, and supporting instruction through coaching, modeling, and co-teaching with both print and digital resources.
    4. Promote digital literacy, artificial intelligence awareness, and digital citizenship, supporting responsible and ethical technology use among students and staff in accordance with district policies and state guidelines.
    5. Design and deliver professional learning opportunities for educators focused on digital learning strategies, instructional technology integration, emerging technologies, and innovative instructional practices.

    7. Serve as a liaison between assigned schools and district departments, supporting the implementation of district learning initiatives and monitoring emerging trends in educational technology to inform instructional practices. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
    8. Accurately maintain records as required by state or federal laws, and Union County Board of Education policies, and/or school-based requests, and adhere to confidentiality requirements of state and federal law.
    9. Serve multiple schools on a rotating schedule to provide instructional support.
    10. Collaborate with school administrators and leadership teams to identify school-specific needs and opportunities.
    11. Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation as required by district policies and leadership.
    12. Foster collaboration among schools to share effective practices and resources.
    13. Establish and maintain welcoming physical and virtual learning environments that provide flexible access to media resources and spaces.
    14. Coordinate and lead Media Advisory and Media Review Committees in accordance with district policy.
    15. Perform other related duties as assigned.
