Primary Purpose:
The Elementary Instructional Facilitator serves as the instructional leader of the campus and supports the principal in ensuring high levels of student achievement through the implementation of a rigorous instructional program. The Instructional Facilitator provides leadership in curriculum, instruction, assessment, intervention, and professional learning while assisting with campus operations, staff supervision, and school improvement efforts. The position is designed to strengthen instructional practices, monitor academic progress, support teacher growth, and ensure the successful implementation of district and campus initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
- Texas Principal Certificate preferred
- Certified Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) Appraiser and Texas Principal Evaluation and Support System (T-PESS) preferred or ability to obtain certification
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of elementary curriculum, instruction, and assessment
- Knowledge of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)
- Ability to analyze and interpret student achievement and assessment data
- Knowledge of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Response to Intervention (RTI), and intervention strategies
- Knowledge of instructional coaching practices and adult learning principles
- Ability to evaluate instructional effectiveness and support continuous improvement
- Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, parents, and community members
- Knowledge of state accountability systems and school improvement processes
- Knowledge of the Texas AF Accountability System, including Domain 1 (Student Achievement),
Domain 2 (School Progress), and Domain 3 (Closing the Gaps)
- Knowledge of state accountability indicators, campus performance frameworks, and school
improvement requirements
- Ability to analyze accountability data and develop action plans to improve student performance
outcomes
Experience:
- Minimum of three years successful classroom teaching experience
- Elementary instructional leadership experience preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Instructional Leadership
- Assist the principal in providing instructional leadership to improve student achievement and ensure academic excellence.
- Support the implementation of district curriculum, instructional frameworks, pacing guides, and assessment systems.
- Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of campus instructional programs aligned to district goals and state standards.
- Facilitate the analysis of student performance data to identify instructional strengths, gaps, and areas for improvement.
- Coordinate and support the implementation of intervention and enrichment programs for students.
- Conduct classroom observations, instructional walkthroughs, and learning walks to monitor instructional effectiveness.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and support to teachers to improve instructional practices and student outcomes.
- Assist teachers in planning rigorous, standards-aligned lessons that incorporate best instructional practices.
- Coordinate and facilitate Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) focused on student achievement and continuous improvement.
- Support the implementation of research-based instructional strategies and evidence-based practices.
- Assist with the development and implementation of campus assessment plans and monitoring systems.
School Improvement and Accountability
- Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Campus Improvement Plan.
- Support campus efforts related to state accountability, school improvement, and strategic planning initiatives.
- Analyze local, state, and national assessment data and assist in developing action plans to address identified needs.
- Monitor progress toward campus performance objectives and academic goals.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of reports required by the district, state, and federal agencies.
Student Support and School Climate
- Support the development and implementation of a positive campus culture focused on student success and high expectations.
- Assist with student attendance initiatives and intervention efforts.
- Work collaboratively with counselors, interventionists, special education staff, bilingual staff, and other support personnel to address student needs.
- Support the implementation of campus behavior expectations and positive behavior support systems.
- Participate in parent conferences and student support meetings as needed.
- Assist in ensuring adequate student supervision and safety throughout the school day.
Personnel Management and Professional Development
- Assist the principal in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, onboarding, and retaining highly qualified staff.
- Participate in teacher observations, evaluations, and professional growth activities in accordance with district appraisal systems.
- Serve as a certified appraiser and conduct teacher evaluations as assigned.
- Identify professional development needs and assist in planning and delivering staff training.
- Support beginning teachers, teacher mentors, and instructional teams.
- Foster collaboration, teamwork, and shared leadership among campus staff.
Campus Operations
- Assist the principal in the daily management and operation of the campus.
- Support the development of master schedules, instructional schedules, intervention schedules, and duty assignments.
- Monitor and support student attendance, enrollment, and related reporting requirements.
- Assist with coordinating campus testing programs and assessment administration.
- Ensure compliance with district policies, administrative procedures, and state and federal regulations.
- Assist in managing campus resources, instructional materials, and inventories.
- Serve as acting administrator in the absence of the principal as assigned.
Parent and Community Relations
- Promote positive relationships among students, staff, parents, and community members.
- Communicate campus goals, expectations, and academic initiatives to stakeholders.
- Encourage and support parent engagement activities and family involvement programs.
- Represent the campus at district and community meetings as assigned.
Other Duties
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Attend district, regional, and state professional development activities as required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the principal or supervisor.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in supervising and evaluating professional and paraprofessional staff as assigned. Provide leadership and support to teachers, instructional aides, interventionists, and other campus personnel. Serve as a certified appraiser as assigned.
