    Instructional Design Coach - Elementary Instructional Design Coaches (IDCs) work within the Blue Valley School District to support instructional improvement efforts. IDCs are a building-based resource that cultivates instruction that is student-centered and future-ready. An important component of this work is deepening teachers' understanding and integration of technology. IDCs also work closely with Academic Services on broader curriculum, instruction, assessment and professional learning iniatives.

    Qualifications: A current Kansas teaching license and three years teaching. Reports to: Executive Director of Innovation, Curriculum and Instruction Contract: Teacher contract with 14 additional days

    Essential Functions Building-Level Coaching Research and cultivate future-ready instructional practices. Coach teachers to design instruction that encompasses student centeredness; student voice and choice; integration of contents; a culture of critique and reflection; executive functioning; transparency; relevant tasks; authentic experiences; connections beyond classrooms; and facilitative instruction. Assist teachers as they deepen their understanding of and practices in Standards-based grading including determining evidence of learning, measuring mastery of standards and providing opportunities to extend standards. Collaborate with Academic Services to support schools as they improve instruction. Support and/or mentor new-to-profession and new-to-Blue Valley teachers in the assigned building.

    District-Level Content/Program Leadership Plan, facilitate and evaluate the professional learning (PL) program at the elementary level. Model effective instructional strategies. Collect, organize and analyze program-level data and use it to make informed recommendations to the elementary program. Support and/or mentor new-to-profession and new-to-Blue Valley teachers, as needed. Contribute to the district-led professional learning programs and initiatives. Model educational technology strategies in professional learning, support technology best-practices in instruction and assist with the evaluation of educational technology tools. Plan and facilitate collaborative work between vertical teams. Promote district initiatives by modeling PLC process/collaboration, aligning district-wide efforts and communicating effectively. Research and benchmark current practices in the content area or program with exemplar programs and best practice. Maintain accurate records in the areas of materials, budget and professional learning logs. Other duties as assigned.
