Primary Purpose:
To support focused reading instructional initiatives as directed by the Texas Education Agency, which includes conducting reading training, and providing ongoing feedback to support district-wide implementation of the reading academies in theory and practice.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Program Management
Lead team of Instructional Cohort Coaches for the successful execution of HB3 Reading Academies through district roadmap for implementation.
Communicate regularly with departments such as Human Resources, Professional Learning, Curriculum and Instruction, Special Education and Second Language Education to ensure all individuals receive mandated training, coaching and follow up in the reading academies pedagogy.
Develop and conduct professional development and training in the foundations of reading instruction at the district and campus level.
Work collaboratively with district and campus instructional leadership team.
Facilitate teacher leadership on campuses through:
Collaboration (community building using PLC tenets)
Translating theory into practice
Demonstration of best practices in reading
Coach campus staff in a variety of scenarios such as, teacher teams, specialist cohorts, interventionists, etc., in the use of effective research based instructional strategies and methodologies of the science of teaching reading.
Provide assistance and resources for campus personnel to meet the varied learning needs of all students in the area of beginning reading instruction.
Serve as a resource for instructional specialists and content coordinators to integrate differentiated reading instruction.
Meet on a regular basis with campus and district personnel to analyze relevant data in order to monitor program effectiveness and make adjustments.
Conduct campus walkthroughs and provide feedback to staff, administration, and district personnel.
Attend/present at appropriate district and campus meetings.
Assist in the development of curriculum, assessment, and supplemental materials to support reading instruction and literacy development.
Research and stay abreast of current legislation, research and trends.
Perform duties directly related to supporting literacy development, training and coaching.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals
Posture: Standing, prolonged sitting, occasional kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching; may also require climbing stairs and reaching over head
Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 15 pounds); May require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (15-45 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent district wide travel; all campuses are temperature controlled with hard surface floors
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

2025-2026 Salary Range Min. $75,411 (Based on previous experience)
Salaries are determined by the number of completed and eligible years of service at an accredited school.
Salary is based on 220 days. If working less than 220 days, the salary will be less.
