St. Maria Goretti Catholic School (Westfield, IN) is seeking Instructional Assistants provide additional support for students in the classroom for the 2026-27 school year. Positions are available at both the elementary and middle school level. All interested candidates for this position must possess a knowledge of the school's mission, an understanding of the Catholic faith, and a willingness to teach in a faith based setting. This is an hourly, part time position.
JOB DUTIES
Core duties include, but are not limited to:
- Support the teacher in delivering instruction and supporting students needs
- Provide academic support for students under the guidance of the teacher through both individual and small-group work
- Assisting with schoolwide student supervision/duties (ex. hallway supervision, lunch duty, recess, carpool, etc.)
- Assist in managing daily classroom routines and behavior
- Contribute to a safe, organized, nurturing and faith-based classroom environment
QUALIFICATIONS
- Preferred: 1-2 years of experience working with young children in school or care settings
- Ability to follow teacher direction and willingness to work as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Patience, compassion, and ability to maintain a safe and supportive environment
- Ability to lift, move, and actively assist students when needed
