Job Summary The Instructional Assistant supports the lead teacher in creating a safe and engaging learning environment for children. This role involves assisting with daily activities classroom management and individualized support to foster childrens cognitive social and emotional development. Key Responsibilities Assist in implementing lesson plans. Help children develop social skills self-regulation and independence. Provide one-on-one or small group support as needed. Communicate effectively with parents teachers and staff. Follow school policies and procedures including health and safety guidelines. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent . Experience working with children in a middle school & high school setting. Patience creativity and strong communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a team. CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and actively participate in play and activities. Preferred Qualifications NM Public Education Department Educational Assistant License.
