Instructional Assistant - STEM Academy (Elementary)

The Waukesha STEM Academy is housed in a brand new K-8 campus where hands-on and project-based learning are an essential component of our students'' educational experience. Students learn by innovating and creating, while collaboratively building the future! We are hiring an Instructional Assistant to work with our younger elementary learners.

SUMMARY: To collaboratively work with the STEM elementary level classroom teacher to meet the diverse needs of students.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES (include, but may not be limited to):

• Work with individual students and small groups as directed by the classroom teacher that directly supports the needs of the given students.
• Given explicit direction from the classroom teacher, lead appropriate classroom activities.
• Complete other organizational and clerical tasks requested by the classroom teacher such as copying, cutting, or assistance with classroom projects.
• Assist the classroom teacher in reinforcing classroom guidelines and procedures.
• Ensure the safety of students.
• Supervise students in the lunch room and/or on the playground before/after lunch (if assigned).
• Enforce school rules in the lunch room, hallways and playground (if assigned).
• Assist students in obtaining lunch from the lunch lines (if assigned).
