Job Summary

The Lawndale Elementary School District has multiple openings for part time and full time Special Education Instructional Assistants at various locations. We would like to establish a pool to meet staffing needs. This position is a 10-month position that accumulates one paid vacation and sick day per month of employment. LESD provides a $1,000 per year career enrichment program for employees. We currently have vacancies at our Elementary and Middle School sites. Various positions: AVAILABLE POSITIONS Kit Carson Elementary (Early Start Regionalized Program) 14hr/wk MWF 8:30AM-12:00PM Tu/Th 8:30AM-10:15AM F. D. Roosevelt Elementary School 14hr/wk MTWF 8:30AM-11:30AM Th 8:30AM-10:30AM W. Rogers Middle School 14hr/wk MTWF 12:00PM-3:00PM Th 10:45AM-12:45PM B. Mitchell Elementary School 28.5 hr/wk (Effective 12/1/2026) MTWF 8:30AM-3:00PM Th 8:30AM-1:00PM L. Smith Elementary School 28.5 hr/wk MTWF 8:30AM-3:00PM Th 8:30AM-1:00PM M. Applicants must have a high school diploma (or its recognized equivalent) and pass an academic assessment test (conducted/provided by LESD). 48 Units or an Associates (or greater) degree from an accredited college/university is preferred. Some experience in working with school-age children in an organized setting is desirable.
