    Description:

    The Department of Chemistry at the University of Houston invites applications for a non-tenure-track Instructional Assistant Professor position for Organic Chemistry and General Chemistry.

    The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in organic chemistry, experience using Canvas course management software and Microsoft Teams, a strong commitment to chemistry education, and the ability to construct original, free-response midterm and final exams for organic chemistry lecture sections. Experience in teaching in-person university-level chemistry lecture courses is highly preferred but not required.

    The position emphasizes excellence in undergraduate teaching, development of instructional materials and assessments, and collaboration with faculty and university partners that support the teaching of chemistry.

    Employees are expected to have a home address in the state of Texas for the duration of their appointments.

    Official transcripts are required for a faculty appointment and will be requested upon selection of the final candidates.
