The Triton Regional School District is seeking interested applicants for an anticipated elementary-level Instructional Assistant vacancy to support students across various roles, including general education classrooms, special education inclusion settings, and one-on-one assignments.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate flexibility, collaboration, and a commitment to meeting students'' diverse needs. The position includes working with students with disabilities and complex medical needs, as well as providing general instructional support in PreK-6 classrooms.
Responsibilities may include:
- Providing academic and behavioral support to students in inclusion and/or 1:1 settings
- Supporting instruction using various curricula
- Collaborating with classroom teachers, special educators, therapists, and school nurses
- Monitoring and documenting student progress
- Participating in team discussions when appropriate
- Implementing components of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and/or behavior plans
- Supporting smooth daily transitions and helping maintain a positive classroom environment
- Willingness to learn and support communication devices-training will be provided
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with children with disabilities
- Understanding of child development
- Strong attention to detail, patience, and a positive attitude
- Willingness to learn and work as part of a collaborative team
