JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Instructional Aide (Pre-K) Status: Nonexempt Reports to: Principal and Teacher (s) Assigned Terms: 181 days Pay Grade: Para-Professional Pay Grade 1 Salary Range: $19,383-23,639 (BASE PAY TO MID POINT SALARY) Campus: TBD Date Revised: August 12, 2026 Primary Purpose: Assist teacher in preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements. Work under supervision of certified teacher. Qualifications: Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED Meets Highly Qualified Status-48 college hours or passing of the PAC test Valid Texas educational aide certificate Bilingual Preferred Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to work well with children Ability to communicate effectively Must be willing to meet the requirements for Highly Qualified Experience: Experience working with children Major Responsibilities and Duties: Instructional Support

  1. Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays
  2. Participate in feeding, toileting/diaper changes and any other personal student needs
  3. Assist with testing as assigned by supervising teacher
  4. Help maintain neat and orderly classroom
  5. Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment
  6. Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports
  7. Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers Student Management
  8. Work with individual students or small groups as assigned by teachers
  9. Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty
  10. Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students Other
  11. Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance
  12. Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned
  13. Any other duties as assigned by the principal or supervisor Supervisory Responsibilities: None Equipment Used: Copier, computer, and audiovisual equipment Working Conditions: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress. Moderate standing, stooping, bending, and lifting.
