Installations Division Manager

EarthScapes Lawn & Land Service, Inc. — Virginia Beach, VA
Full-Time | Leadership Role

About EarthScapes:
EarthScapes has been a trusted name in landscape construction and land management across Hampton Roads since 1996. We build outdoor living spaces — patios, walkways, fire pits, outdoor kitchens, and full landscape installations — for clients who expect excellence and professionalism at every step. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a proven leader to run one of the most important divisions in our company.

Our core values guide everything we do:
  • Quality over Quantity, Every Day
  • Do the Right Thing, Always
  • Effective Communication
  • Trust
We believe in delivering happiness by creating exceptional landscapes and outdoor spaces, enhancing property values, and providing unmatched client satisfaction — Making the World Look Better, One Yard at a Time.

The Opportunity:
The Installations Division Manager leads and is fully accountable for a multi-million dollar operating division — one of the largest and most visible parts of EarthScapes. This is not an entry point into management. Coming up through the field as a landscape construction crew member, crew leader, and project manager is the expected path that gets someone to this role — but it's the starting point, not the qualification itself. We need a candidate who has already put in the time managing landscape construction operations at scale and has a proven track record to show for it.

What sets the right candidate apart is demonstrated success leading people, managing a P&L, planning months ahead, solving problems before they become expensive, and keeping clients and crews aligned toward the same outcome — on time, on budget, and done right.

If you've already built and proven a track record managing landscape or hardscape construction operations — not just performing the work, but running it — this is the role.

Benefits & Compensation Package:
  • Competitive salary commensurate on experience
  • 401(k)
  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Profit sharing
  • Career advancement opportunities
  • Ongoing professional training and development
What You'll Own:
Divisional Leadership & Profitability
  • Full ownership of the Installations Division's performance — profitability, efficiency, and quality across every active project
  • Assign and manage Project Managers across a portfolio of concurrent installation projects
  • Monitor job costing and division-wide financial performance; catch and correct problems before they erode margin
  • Build and maintain long-range scheduling and capacity planning across the division
Project Administration & Scheduling
  • Receive incoming projects from Sales, review scope of work, and assign the right Project Manager to the right job
  • Own the master project schedule and ensure every job moves efficiently from start to finish
  • Oversee material ordering/purchasing and ensure permits and utility tickets are filed on time to avoid costly delays
Client Relationships
  • Serve as the senior point of contact for clients during installation projects — the person clients trust when it matters most
  • Keep clients informed proactively on schedule, changes, and status
  • Ensure every completed project leaves a satisfied client
People Leadership
  • Ensure Project Managers and crews are properly staffed, equipped, and set up to succeed
  • Train, mentor, and hold your team accountable to EarthScapes' standards of quality and professionalism
  • Regularly inspect project sites to ensure compliance with safety regulations, local building codes, and company quality standards
  • Serve as the division's quality assurance leader — enforcing best practices and industry standards (including ICPI standards for hardscape work) on every job
Cross-Departmental Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Sales to ensure accurate project handoff and a shared understanding of client intent
  • Coordinate with Maintenance and Agronomics divisions to ensure seamless, conflict-free project execution across the property
  • Participate in weekly production meetings with Sales, Finance, and Operations leadership to review schedules, job costing, and completed work
What You Bring:
  • 7-10 years of hands-on experience managing landscape/hardscape installation and construction projects (patios, walkways, fire pits, outdoor living spaces, irrigation, outdoor lighting, pools)
  • 3-5 years of experience supervising other Project Managers, or a comparable managerial role — this is not a first-time management position
  • Demonstrated history of taking full ownership of project or divisional outcomes, not just executing assigned work
  • Strong business instincts — you understand job costing, budgets, and what drives (or kills) profitability on a project
  • Excellent organizational and scheduling skills; you can manage many moving projects at once without dropping the ball
  • Strong client-facing communication — confident, professional, and solutions-oriented under pressure
  • Proven ability to lead, train, and hold a team accountable
  • ICPI (Interlocking Concrete Paver Institute) certification preferred — a strong signal of professionalism and command of hardscape best practices, though not required
  • Proficiency with project management/operations software (Aspire, LMN, AutoCAD, or SketchUp preferred)
  • OSHA safety training
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
Why EarthScapes?
  • A leadership seat with real ownership and visibility — this division is a major component of our company's success
  • Work alongside an experienced ownership and operations team committed to your growth
  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications
  • The chance to build your own legacy on projects across Hampton Roads
