You'll work closely with supervisors and team members to inspect, grade, and manage materials, helping uphold high standards across all processes.
What You'll Do
As an Inspector/Laborer, you will be responsible for:
- Inspect incoming scrap materials.
- Assess and record inspection data, including weight, grade, content, and quantity of material.
- Ensure that all materials are free from environmental hazards and meet company acceptance policies.
- Coordinate unloading activities to promote safe and efficient traffic flow within the facility.
- Identify and report any equipment issues or unsafe conditions to supervisors promptly.
- Assist with the handling and transfer of materials, supporting overall operations.
- Collaborate with the team on quality control to ensure customer specifications are met consistently.
- Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental standards to maintain a safe work environment.
What You'll Bring
The ideal candidate will have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Good physical condition and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- The ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- An understanding of safety procedures and a proactive attitude towards maintaining a safe workplace.
- Certifications such as OSHA or safety training are a plus but not required.

Location & Schedule:
This is an on-site position based in Auburn, Maine, with hours from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime may be required, including weekends or holidays, especially during peak periods.
