Job Summary

Join our team as a Quality Inspector in the Quality Department located in Attleboro, MA. Your role will involve inspecting products for material defects and workmanship quality using visual, mechanical, dimensional, and functional inspection techniques. Inspections occur throughout our process, from raw materials to the final inspection of finished goods.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform quality inspections per approved procedures.
  • Initiate nonconformance material reports (NCMR).
  • Conduct all aspects of testing related to manufacturing.
  • Carry out incoming, first article, in-process release, and final QA release inspections.
  • Ensure all inspections and procedures are properly completed and documented following GDP practices.
  • Generate Certificates of Conformance (CoC).
  • Read and understand written instructions and SOPs.
  • Perform other quality duties as assigned.
  • CMM Certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in GD&T (ASME Y14.5-2009).

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Ability to grasp or manipulate objects with one or both hands.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, use office equipment, and lift up to 25 pounds during normal duties.
  • Ability to see details at close range (near vision). An annual eye exam is required.
  • Use of personal computer and software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, IPI, etc.).
  • Use of standard office equipment such as telephone, copier, fax, calculator, and others as required.
  • Use of inspection measurement equipment, CMM and related software, Optical Comparator, calipers, height gauges, micrometers, and indicators.

Job Requirements

  • Technical training courses in a related field or equivalent prior work experience required.
  • 3 or more years of Quality Inspector experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, comparators, toolmaker’s microscope, indicators, surface plate, thread gage, and other common inspection tools.
  • Proficiency in GD&T and blueprint reading.
  • Basic understanding of aerospace quality management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office data entry skills.
  • CMM experience.
  • Experience with electromechanical sensors and systems is a plus.
  • Experience or training in a world-class manufacturing environment with familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma activities is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001, GD&T, SPC, FMEA, and other related industry standards is a plus.
  • Programming of Mitutoyo CMM with MCOSMOS software is a plus.
  • ASQ Certification as a Quality Inspector, Quality Technician, or Quality Process Analyst desired.
