[About the Role]
Join a fast-paced, high-impact Incoming Inspection team as a key quality gatekeeper for a diverse supplier network. As an experienced Inspector, your expertise will ensure only top-quality materials reach our production floor, safeguarding schedules, supplier partnerships, and product integrity. This hands-on, precision metrology position is ideal for detail-oriented professionals who thrive on autonomy, proactive communication, and making independent decisions in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
[Responsibilities]
- Execute precision dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, gauge blocks, gauge pins, Keyence Vision Systems, and optical comparators
- Perform thorough visual inspections of electronic assemblies, molded components, and mechanical parts with microscopes and magnifiers
- Identify, document, and escalate nonconforming material through detailed Nonconformance/Material Review Reports (NMR), collaborating with Supplier Quality teams
- Select and nominate Dock-to-Stock (DTS) candidates following established procedures, presenting findings to quality engineering staff
- Maintain audit-ready inspection records and documentation aligned with AS9100 quality standards
- Identify needs for new or custom metrology equipment to support specialized jobs
- Collaborate cross-functionally with buyers, planners, engineers, and leadership to resolve quality issues and support production priorities
[Required Skills and Experience]
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant inspection experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent, or 2 years of inspection experience with a 2-year post-secondary/Associate's Degree
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T specifications
- Skilled in generating and maintaining formal inspection and nonconformance documentation
- Demonstrated autonomy and sound judgment in complex inspection tasks
- Hands-on experience with precision hand measurement tools
[Preferred Skills]
- IPC-A-610 Certification for electronic assembly inspection
- Hexagon CMM Certification and PC-DMIS software experience
- Keyence Vision System programming skills
- Experience inspecting optical components (e.g., Zygo interferometric systems)
- Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, and Material Review Board processes
- Experience in source inspections at supplier facilities
- Background in high-volume incoming inspection environments
