Inside Technical Sales & Applications Specialist – Electrical Systems
Position Summary
The Inside Technical Sales & Applications Specialist – Electrical Systems combines technical product knowledge, applications support, and B2B sales. This position works directly with Military, Industrial, and Commercial customers to understand their electrical requirements, evaluate applications, recommend appropriate product configurations, and develop accurate technical quotations and proposals.
Serving as a key technical liaison between customers, Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing, this role supports both standard products and engineered-to-order opportunities while managing customer opportunities through the sales cycle.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product/application support to B2B customers.
• Review customer specifications, schematics, line diagrams, drawings, and other technical documentation to understand electrical and application requirements.
• Evaluate application requirements including voltage, current, power, load, input/output, environmental, and interface requirements.
• Recommend appropriate products and configurations based on customer applications and technical specifications.
• Identify when customer requirements require product modification, custom engineering, or additional Engineering review.
• Develop accurate technical quotations, cost estimates, and commercial proposals for standard, configured, and engineered-to-order products.
• Communicate with customer engineering, procurement, program management, and other stakeholders to clarify technical and commercial requirements.
• Coordinate with Field Sales, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, and Manufacturing on technically complex opportunities.
• Support technical handoff of engineered-to-order and complex customer orders to Engineering and Manufacturing.
• Manage assigned opportunities through technical discovery, quotation, negotiation, order conversion, and processing.
• Identify upsell and cross-selling opportunities based on customer applications and purchasing history.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, opportunity pipelines, quotation status, and sales activity reporting.
• Maintain current knowledge of company products, capabilities, electrical technologies, and customer applications.
