Summary

Execute sales growth plan by acquiring and evaluating leads for potential sales opportunities with new and existing accounts in assigned territory. Generate quality leads and collaborate with the Sales and Service Teams to increase sales opportunities. Address incoming customer or potential customer calls for opportunities and deliver strong customer service experiences to develop relationships with new or existing customers.

Essential Job Duties

  • Promotes and sells Fairbanks Scales industrial equipment through prospecting and lead generation.
  • Work with Sales Managers, Service Managers in assigned territory to identify new customers, and develop incremental business within existing customers
  • Prospect, qualify and generate new leads via phone, email, and internet to provide to Area Sales Managers.
  • Engage the appropriate Area Sales Manager or Distribution Account Specialist for referrals of leads and successfully transition those sales opportunities.
  • Prospect, quote and sell select products, product categories, and services including maintenance agreements meeting monthly activity objectives.
  • Meet and exceed the required outbound call volume to meet activity requirements.
  • Evaluate customer needs before and during prospecting calls to develop proposals that meet needs, overcome objections, and address concerns; present proposals and follow up on proposal or quotes to sell products and develop repeat customers.
  • For existing customers assigned, act as primary point of contact and interact with internal teams to resolve any customers issues or address product or service needs.
  • Maintain all customer contacts, opportunities, quotes and orders within Company CRM, also submitting required activity reports, industry or market reports, sales reports accurately and timely.
  • Complete any required Company training as assigned.
  • Follow and uphold all company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications -- Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.)

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sales, Business or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of one to two (1-2) years of sales experience in an office setting is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities -- May be representative, but not all-inclusive, of the knowledge, skills, and abilities commonly associated with this position.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products - specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Possess or ability to learn the Fairbanks Scales business and web based systems.
  • Possess or able to develop a strong working knowledge of the industry and Fairbanks Product Catalog and offerings.
  • Critical thinker with attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to understand concepts of pricing and profitability.
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Possess the strong internal motivation and drive to meet and exceed objectives.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive and productive business relationships.
  • Mechanical aptitude, some knowledge of electronics, computing networks is preferred.

Work Environment -- Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.

  • General office conditions, extensive phone and PC use. Exposed to moderate noise levels.
  • The typical schedule is weekdays 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, but may flex to align with assigned region's time zone.
  • Some travel for regional meetings or to meet Areas Sales and Service teams may be required.
  • If traveling to customer or potential customer site, must be able to don PPE including hearing protection, safety boots, or glasses where required.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally to exchange information.
