    Description

    JOB DESCRIPTION

Is seeking an Inside Sales Manager in Houston, TX, to lead its Advanced Manufacturing & Wear Products segment, the company's most technical, highest-complexity customer category, serving large OEMs and heavy-equipment manufacturers. Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, this role owns quote execution and order entry for the segment and is responsible for building a well-coached, process-driven team rather than acting as the top individual performer. Success looks like a team wrapped in a strong process, using ERP, nesting, and machine software to make the quote-to-order workflow more efficient.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Team Leadership & Coaching: Directly manage a team of 5 (Technical Sales Specialist, Senior Inside Sales, and Technical Sales Support), including remote team members. Run frequent 1:1s to keep the team calibrated, focused, and accountable, treating missteps as coaching moments. Expected time allocation (per client): ~60% directly managing team execution, ~15–20% engaged on strategic accounts and major project kickoffs, ~15–20% cross-functional collaboration with BD, Supply Chain, and Production Planning.
    • Strategic Account Engagement: Engage directly on strategic accounts and major project kickoffs, providing consultative technical input on capacity planning and turnkey solutions.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with the Business Development team, Supply Chain, and Production Planning, who share production/machine capacity with this team.
    • Process Ownership: Own the quote-to-order workflow, using ERP, nesting, and machine software to drive efficiency and a process-improvement mindset central to the role.
    • Technical Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret engineered technical drawings for industrial fabricated products to support quoting and solutioning conversations.
    • Conflict Management: Navigate healthy, direct conflict and hold the team accountable without becoming avoidant or overly aggressive.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Leadership Experience: Real, hands-on people-management experience that cannot be learned on the job.
    • Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret engineered technical drawings for industrial fabricated products (non-negotiable).
    • Process Orientation: Strong process-oriented thinking applied to quoting/order-entry tools and systems (ERP, nesting, machine software).
    • Emotional Intelligence: Able to coach, give direct feedback, and hold people accountable without becoming avoidant or overly aggressive; comfortable with “positive conflict.”
    • Commercial Exposure: Ideally, commercial sales exposure alongside management experience.
    • Key Soft Skills: Strong cross-functional communicator, collaborative, and able to prioritize what's best for the company/customer over personal territory.

    NICE-TO-HAVE

    • Machining background is a plus, though not a dealbreaker.

    EDUCATION

    • Degree: Open item to be confirmed with the client.
    • Certifications: Open item to be confirmed with the client.

    COMPENSATION PACKAGE

    • Base Salary Range: $120,000 (client-confirmed working figure; formal written sign-off pending).
    • Bonus / Commission: $5,000–$30,000 per quarter, based on the team's gross profit performance against defined tiers the payout percentage increases as the team reaches higher tiers. Formal bonus program documentation pending from client.
    • Expected OTE: Roughly $140,000–$240,000/year depending on team performance across quarters (base + annualized bonus range); this is a calculated estimate from the bonus mechanics above, not a figure stated directly by the client.
