Inpatient Coding & Auditing – Fully Remote
 
Experience:
Minimum 4 years of hospital/facility inpatient coding experience
Minimum 1 year of hospital-based inpatient coding auditing / DRG validation experience
Extensive acute-care inpatient and trauma coding experience required
Academic Medical Center and Trauma Center experience preferred
Inpatient Coding Experience Required

Must have hands-on experience with:

Principal Diagnosis selection
DRG assignment
Secondary diagnosis coding
Procedure coding using ICD-10-PCS
Inpatient account coding with DRG assignment for:
Neurosurgery
Cardiothoracic Surgery
Orthopedic Surgery
General Surgery
Oncology Surgery
Querying physicians for clarification
Inpatient Auditing / DRG Validation

At least 1 year of experience including:

Validation of principal diagnosis
Validation of principal procedure
Accuracy and quality review of diagnostic codes
Accuracy and quality review of PCS procedure codes
Validation of account abstraction
DRG validation
Systems & Coding Tools
EPIC
Solventum / 3M 360
MS-DRGs
APR-DRGs
Required Certification / Credential

One of the following is required:

RHIA
RHIT
CCS
CPC
Important Experience Restriction

This is strictly an Inpatient coding position.

Not acceptable as a substitute:

Outpatient facility coding
Professional coding for inpatient admissions

Candidates must have extensive acute-care inpatient coding experience.

Candidates must complete:

Inpatient Coding Assessment
Inpatient Auditing Assessment

These assessments are required before the interview.

Schedule

Training:

Monday–Friday
8:00 AM–4:30 PM CST
Training expected to be completed within 2 weeks

After Training:

Work hours available between 6:00 AM–6:00 PM CST
Monday–Friday
Productivity Expectation
Full productivity expected within 4 weeks
Remote Equipment Requirements

The agency is responsible for providing computer setup with:

Windows 11
Dual monitors
Webcam

Candidate must also have:

Sufficient, stable internet access
Ability to use multiple applications simultaneously
