Summary:

The Operations Manager works in collaboration with the Director to ensure that inpatient services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with the organization’s strategic and quality goals.
This role involves collaboration with Nurse managers and Supervisors at both campuses, project owners, and subject matter experts to develop and manage operational performance. The Operations Manager is a highly adaptable, high-functioning resource for the Inpatient Nursing team. Conducting project work such as surveys, interviews, project management, educational needs assessments, regulatory compliance, and equipment and capital purchases.

 

Position Reports To: Inpatient Nursing Director

Essential Functions:
  1. Creates, leads, and maintains nursing quality initiatives and projects in collaboration with the Director.

  2. Coordinate unit processes, unit standardization, and communication systems to ensure safe and efficient service delivery.

  3. Work closely with clinical staff, unit educators and leadership to maintain high standards of treatment and care.

  4. Implement and monitor clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based practice.

  5. Collaborates with departments within the organization to ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, and infection control standards.

  6. Identifies issues and creates mitigation plans early. Escalates appropriately.

  7. Ensure team roles and responsibilities are clear, deliverables and risks are identified, and detailed project and initiative schedules are in place.

  8. Delegates responsibilities to applicable resources and holds them accountable for assigned tasks.

  9. Ensures projects and project teams are properly set-up, team roles and responsibilities are clear, deliverables and risks are identified, and detailed project schedules are in place and delivered on time within budget.

  10. Assess and evaluate staff performance, provide feedback, and organize training as needed.

  11. Exercises foresight and judgement in making complex decisions, communicates clearly and frequently and can work independently.

  12. Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.

  13. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree (BSN).
  • Four or more years of recent/relevant experience.
  • Two years of leadership experience.
  • Current licensure in the state of Washington (RCW 18.88) or licensure through Multistate Nurse Licensure Compact (SSB 5499).
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) certification (within 90 days of hire).
  • Demonstrated ability to create, implement and track Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
  • Proficient at using Microsoft office software including: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Desired:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing or Business.
  • Experience managing multiple projects with team members in multiple locations.
  • Five years of leadership experience with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in lean principles; ability to change management methodologies to manage organizational changes.
