The primary purpose of the Offender Disciplinary Hearing Officer (DHO) is to conduct hearings on acts of misconduct referred by facility wardens and other designated staff.
The offender disciplinary procedures provide for due process reviews of acts of misconduct, documentation of relevant testimony, evaluation of evidence, and case-by-case decisions in compliance with custodial and security parameters within the division, as well as legally mandated rules.
DHO exercises total responsibility, ensuring that all hearings and decisions are in complete compliance with divisional policy as well as statutory and other constitutionally mandated requirements.
DHO is also charged with staff development and training responsibilities concerning the disciplinary process, to include audit of reports.

Management Preferences: Served at the Correctional Sergeant level or above, or Program Supervisor level or above for a minimum of two (2) years.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in a human services or criminal justice field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in correctional programs management or related work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
