Injection Molding Mechatronics Maintenance Technician
Join NYX in Livonia, MI as a direct-hire team member earning $30–$35 per hour. Your mission: keep complex molding systems for automotive interior components running with precision and reliability.
Imagine your first week
You step onto the production floor, voltage detector and multimeter in hand. A molding cell flags a fault—within minutes you isolate it to a three-phase power issue, verify against the electrical schematic, and restore the line. Later, you switch gears to PMs on thermolators and dryers, update work orders, and collaborate with ops on a predictive maintenance schedule. Safety and 5S guide every move.
Your impact
- Maximize uptime by diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic issues across molding machines and plant support systems.
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance and meticulously document findings and completed work.
- Service and support: injection molding machines, robots, thermolators, dryers, conveyors, air compressors, vacuum pumps, building utilities, and other support equipment.
- Champion safety through strict lockout/tagout compliance; maintain 5S standards; promptly report safety concerns and injuries.
- Apply basic knowledge of TS16949 and the company’s Quality Policy to ensure consistent quality.
- Embrace additional maintenance assignments and training as directed to broaden your skill set.
What you bring
- 3–4 years of hands-on maintenance experience specifically on plastic injection molding equipment for automotive interiors.
- Clarification: General maintenance or experience limited to process setup/mold-setting alone does not fulfill this requirement.
- Mechanical aptitude; Associate Degree or equivalent maintenance experience.
- Background in an industrial production environment preferred.
- Exceptional troubleshooting skills; ability to flex schedule and work overtime on short notice.
- Solid knowledge of safety practices in industrial environments.
