 Initiative Support SpecialistLocation: Remote / Washington, DC (occasional onsite support required) Work Authorization: US CitizenExperience: 5+ yearsPosition OverviewWe are seeking an Initiative Support Specialist to provide research, operational, communications, and content-development support for a federal Information Literacy Initiative.The successful candidate will assist with research and environmental scans, stakeholder engagement, digitalcontent development, communications, documentation, and coordination with Taskforce members and subject-matter experts (SMEs).Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct environmental scans, literature reviews, and resource evaluations related to emerginginformation literacy priorities.
  • Assist with development of governance plans, website wireframes, mockups, and content changerequests.
  • Coordinate outreach and communications with Taskforce members, SMEs, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare referral forms, guidance materials, communications, and supporting documentation.
  • Draft email outreach, communications materials, and updates for technical assistance resources.
  • Support development of videos, toolkits, social media campaigns, and other public-awareness materials.
  • Maintain organized documentation for resource collections, Community Spotlights, and applicableclearance processes.
  • Contribute to monthly status reporting and quarterly evaluation reporting.
  • Assist with qualitative research and content evaluation activities.Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting similar projects.
  • Experience supporting community-based organizations, libraries, museums, lifelong-learning programs,or similar organizations.
  • Experience conducting literature reviews, environmental scans, qualitative research, or contentevaluations.
  • Experience supporting communications, public-awareness campaigns, or digital content development.
  • Strong research, writing, organizational, and stakeholder-coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a collaborative environment.Preferred Qualifications
  • Education or training in social science, education, qualitative research, communications, or a relateddiscipline.
  • Experience with information literacy, media literacy, digital literacy, or public education initiatives.
  • Experience supporting federal government or public-sector programs.
Compensation: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
