Location: Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid - 3 Days Onsite)

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a hands-on Senior Manager, Infrastructure to lead and support its IT infrastructure, cloud, networking, and cybersecurity initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced infrastructure professional who enjoys remaining close to the technology while providing mentorship and technical guidance to a small IT team.

This role is best suited for someone with a strong technical foundation, a collaborative approach, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Systems Administration

  • Own the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and optimization of the company's infrastructure environment.
  • Manage Microsoft 365 and Azure environments, ensuring reliability, performance, and security.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex infrastructure, network, and systems issues.
  • Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through automation and process improvements.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

  • Support and strengthen the organization's cybersecurity posture across systems, networks, and cloud environments.
  • Assist in developing and implementing security standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Conduct security reviews, identify vulnerabilities, and help drive remediation efforts.
  • Stay current on emerging threats and recommend security improvements.

Technical Leadership & Support

  • Provide mentorship and technical direction to the Help Desk Technician.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand technology needs and deliver effective solutions.
  • Promote a customer-focused approach to IT support and service delivery.
  • Remain actively involved in day-to-day technical troubleshooting and infrastructure support.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 technologies, including Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Experience supporting and managing Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Solid networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Experience implementing and supporting cybersecurity best practices and security controls.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members or serving as a technical lead.
  • Ability to balance strategic improvements with hands-on operational responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Veeam backup and recovery solutions.
  • PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
  • Experience with endpoint management technologies.
  • Exposure to AI tools and automation initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Relevant Microsoft, Azure, Security+, or networking certifications.
