Infrastructure Engineer

Summary

Our client is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and support the organization's enterprise infrastructure including virtual environments, servers, and core systems. This role will ensure the stability, security, and performance of the IT environment while leading infrastructure projects, supporting disaster recovery initiatives, and providing technical expertise across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, administer, and optimize enterprise infrastructure including virtual servers, operating systems, and Core applications.
• Manage VMware environments, virtual machines, host hardware, Microsoft server platforms, and enterprise software.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, and implement performance improvements.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity solutions including testing and documentation.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, and infrastructure standards.
• Support system upgrades, patching, migrations, and infrastructure enhancement projects while following change management processes.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting for servers, desktop systems, and enterprise applications.
• Research, evaluate, and implement new technologies through proof-of-concept testing and technical recommendations.
• Partner with business and IT teams throughout the project lifecycle to design reliable technical solutions.
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance on infrastructure best practices.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in enterprise systems administration or infrastructure engineering.
• Extensive experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, virtual machine administration, and virtualization technologies.
• Experience administering Microsoft Windows server environments and enterprise infrastructure.
• Knowledge of SQL Server administration, Microsoft Exchange, Citrix, and enterprise monitoring tools.
• Solid understanding of networking, security, disaster recovery, and business continuity best practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across technical teams.

Preferred

• Experience with infrastructure automation, scripting, and system implementation projects.
• Industry certifications including VCP, MCSE, CCA-V, CASP, or similar.
