Engineer III Telecom Infrastructure
We are seeking an Engineer III to support large-scale telecom and transport infrastructure projects in Houston, TX. This position is responsible for the design, engineering, documentation, and implementation support of communications systems and critical telecom infrastructure.
Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid)
Schedule: MondayThursday onsite, Friday remote
Duration: 12-Month Contract (Potential Extension)
Responsibilities:
Design and develop engineering packages, drawings, and documentation for communications systems including Microwave Networks, Transport Networks, and OSP Fiber.
Engineer telecom infrastructure including towers, shelters, racks, generators, DC power plants, and backup power systems.
Manage projects from design through implementation handoff.
Support field teams during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
Develop project scopes, engineering proposals, budgets, cost estimates, bid specifications, and RFPs.
Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to existing communications systems.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders, vendors, customers, and field personnel to ensure successful project execution.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing communications systems.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience of strong telecom infrastructure experience is required.
Experience with shelters, towers, racks, generators, DC plants, and critical power/back-up power systems.
Experience with Microwave Radio systems (PTP, PTMP, licensed and unlicensed).
Experience with OSP Fiber engineering, design, and deployment.
Ability to manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously from design through implementation.
