Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree. Six years of experience in information technology systems administration including creating, analyzing, and managing information technology systems are required. Additional related work experience in information technology systems administration including creating, analyzing, and managing information technology systems may substitute for the required college education on a year-for-year basis.

Miami-Dade County Communications, Information & Technology Department (CITD) is recruiting a full-time IT Senior Systems Administrator that will be assigned to the Radio Shop of the Radio Communication Services Division.
This position supports the County's Enterprise Communications Network and mission-critical public safety systems, including Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and emergency communications infrastructure. The role performs advanced technical work in the planning, design, implementation, administration, security, and maintenance of enterprise data, voice, wireless, and fiber-optic networks.
Responsibilities include ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of network infrastructure; administering LAN, WAN, wireless, and fiber-optic environments; troubleshooting complex network issues; and evaluating and implementing technology solutions. The position supports infrastructure modernization, capacity planning, redundancy and failover strategies, disaster recovery initiatives, and compliance with cybersecurity and public safety standards.
This position also manages infrastructure projects and related procurement activities, including developing technical specifications, evaluating vendor proposals, administering contracts, managing budgets, and overseeing vendor performance.
