Description

Information Systems Architect

  • Location: Houston, TX 77032
  • Duration: 6 months
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, Standard Business Hours CST
  • Hours: 40 hours per week, no overtime expected
  • Work Arrangement: Fully Remote
  • Compensation: $77.84 - $86.49 / hr
  • Employment Type: W2 (not open to C2C, 1099, or visa sponsorship)

Responsibilities

  • Design and oversee comprehensive information systems architectures supporting large-scale enterprise operations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to translate strategic requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Evaluate proposed software, hardware, and cloud solutions for architectural alignment, performance, and risk.
  • Establish architectural standards, blueprints, and best practices across the technology organization.
  • Review technical designs and provide actionable guidance to development and implementation teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify architectural bottlenecks or legacy system limitations and recommend modernizing strategies.
  • Act as a technical escalation point and advisor for complex integration and infrastructure challenges.
  • Document architectural decisions, system topologies, and data flows to ensure transparency and traceability.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience designing and deploying enterprise information systems in large-scale environments
  • Proven expertise in cloud and on-premises infrastructure integration, data architecture, and enterprise software design
  • Strong working knowledge of security controls, networking fundamentals, and identity management frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to diverse stakeholder groups
  • Experience participating in technical governance forums or architecture review boards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant enterprise architecture certifications (e.g., TOGAF, SABSA)
  • Cloud architecture certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert)
  • Experience leading digital transformation or legacy cloud migration initiatives
