The Information Security Engineer III is responsible for implementing, operating, and continuously improving enterprise information security solutions. This role focuses on an LLM-based code vulnerability detection and reporting platform, supporting development, CI/CD integration, monitoring, and production operations within an established architecture.
The engineer will collaborate with security, engineering, architecture, and product teams to deliver secure and reliable solutions while participating in a rotating 24/7 operational support model.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and operate an LLM-based code vulnerability detection capability using AWS Bedrock, including prompt/agent implementation, model invocation, guardrails, cost controls, and result normalization.
Build and maintain evaluation tools, regression testing, and reporting to measure and improve scanner performance.
Develop and maintain scanning pipelines integrated with GitHub and Jenkins, deployed to AWS ECS and managed through Terraform.
Integrate security findings and operational telemetry with Splunk, including dashboards and alerting for platform health, coverage, and performance.
Design, test, and implement solutions at the Story and Feature level within an established technical architecture.
Apply software development, cloud security, Infrastructure as Code, and operational best practices.
Provide production support, including monitoring, patching, tuning, defect resolution, and feature enhancements.
Monitor scanner health, pipeline execution, and alerts during assigned shifts; execute established runbooks and escalate issues as appropriate.
Maintain operational documentation, standards, procedures, runbooks, and compliance controls.
Perform structured shift handoffs and communicate open issues, changes, risks, and escalations.
Participate in a rotating 24/7 support schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Work effectively and independently during assigned shifts with limited direct supervision.
Required Qualifications
2+ years of relevant engineering experience, including information security or software development.
Exposure to AWS Bedrock or comparable hosted LLM platforms, including model invocation and guardrail configuration.
Working knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.
Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, preferably Jenkins and GitHub.
Familiarity with application security concepts, common vulnerability classes, and SAST/SCA tooling.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical issues, risks, and status to technical and leadership audiences.
Ability and willingness to work a rotating 24/7 schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to work independently during off-hours with limited supervision.
Ability to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on AWS experience, particularly IAM, ECS, and service-to-service authentication.
Hands-on AWS Bedrock experience, including model selection and inference optimization.
Experience with agentic or multi-step LLM workflows and large-repository context management.
Experience with RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures.
Experience with Splunk, including data onboarding, search, dashboards, and alerting.
Experience with containerized workloads and Linux environments.
Experience supporting 24/7 operational environments, including runbook execution and shift handoffs.
Experience working in Agile software development environments.
Experience in financial services or other regulated industries.
Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Associate, AWS Security Specialty, or CompTIA Security+.
