    Description

    The Information Security Administrator, Sr. serves as the primary cybersecurity lead for Phoenix College. This role is responsible for the strategic implementation, management, and monitoring of security protocols to protect the college's digital assets. This position also acts as a critical bridge between Phoenix College's specific operational needs and the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) security standards.

    Essential Functions

    25% - Security Leadership

    Lead the design and execution of college information security strategies, ensuring all Phoenix College systems and networks align with institutional standards and compliance requirements.

    25% - Risk Assessment

    Conduct regular audits and vulnerability assessments of college-specific applications and infrastructure, and work with the IT team members to proactively mitigate threats.

    20% - Compliance

    Ensure the college remains compliant with federal and state regulations, including FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act), GLBA (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act), and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).

    10% - District Coordination

    Serve as the formal liaison to the MCCCD Office information security personnel, ensuring Phoenix College participates in district-wide initiatives and adheres to centralized security policies.

    10% - Incident Response & Management

    Act as the "first responder" for security breaches or vulnerabilities at the college level, coordinating containment, investigation, and recovery efforts.

    10% - Training & Advocacy

    Promote a culture of security awareness across the campus by educating faculty, staff, and students on best practices and emerging cyber threats.
