Loudoun County Department of Family Services seeks a dedicated, professional candidate for its Grant Funded Information & Referral Specialist position. The successful candidate will join the Public Assistance and Support division and the diverse department that envisions better health, safety, and well-being for all. Job Summary
The Loudoun County Department of Family Services (DFS) is seeking a compassionate, customer-focused Information & Referral Specialist to join the Information & Referral/Coordinated Entry Team. This full-time, grant-funded position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference by connecting residents with essential programs, services, and community resources.
As an Information & Referral Specialist, you will serve as a central point of contact for individuals, families, and community organizations seeking assistance. You will assess client needs, provide accurate information and referrals, and connect individuals experiencing housing instability or homelessness with services that best support their unique circumstances. This position also plays an important role in community outreach and collaboration with local service providers to strengthen access to resources throughout Loudoun County.

Minimum Qualifications
Associates degree in Sociology, Psychology or related human services field and one (1) year of work experience in case coordination, which may include client intake or call center or in a social or human service setting or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment background checks to include criminal, credit, DMV, and CPS/APS. Valid driver's license and good driving record (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification).
Must be available for duty beyond the typical workday (8:30 am- 5:00 pm), which includes weekends and holidays, as required to perform functions of the position for the assigned department. May be required to work and may be assigned to an alternate worksite(s) to carry out duties that support operational needs.

Our work hours are typically Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on a hybrid telework schedule - Can you work this schedule? (Please note, for the first 90 days all new hires are expected to report in-person during their training period).

At times, the Department of Family Services staff must respond to community and or emergency needs caused by inclement weather, natural or human-made disasters, etc. Therefore, in these very rare instances, all DFS staff must be available to work beyond the normal workday to include nights, weekends, and holidays, as required to perform functions of the position and/or situation. In addition, you may be required to work at an alternative worksite(s) within the County to perform duties that support the operational needs of the department.
