Required License/Registration/Certification

Licensed Pharmacist; EPIC certified within 6 months of hire.

Physical Requirements

This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Also involves risk of injuries from use of equipment on the job; working in confined spaces; and exposure to blood-borne or airborne pathogens, hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, and cuts/punctures.

Shift

Day shift, 8:00am - 5:00pm with some holiday/weekend requirements. Hours and days of the week are subject to change based on the needs and growth of the department. Holidays/weekends are not currently a requirement, but always subject to change. Requires some on-call shifts. Remote schedule option available.

Job Summary

Responsibilities include serving as a liaison between Information Technology on pharmacy system optimization projects for the pharmacy department while maintaining a focus on quality, safety and compliance.; creating education materials and providing education on outpatient and inpatient pharmacy systems; assist in facilitating the formulary review process for specialty and non-specialty medications; participating in appropriate health system and/or departmental committees relevant to practice area; and establishing safe practices for outpatient therapy handling, as well as collaborating and communicating with multidisciplinary team members involved in providing services to patients. Traveling to connect sites to assist with education or workflow optimization. Optimize EHR support to assist with pharmacy workflow and data requirements. Assist in the development and testing of pharmacy orders and workflows. There is an internal candidate being considered.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Proven experience in implementing and supporting pharmacy systems. Strong understanding of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and pharmacy systems optimization. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to delivering high-quality service and support to end-users

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience

PharmD or RPh Required. Epic certification in relevant modules (e.g., Willow, Pharmacist Builder, Compass Rose) preferred.
