Join Our Team - Infection Prevention & Safety Officer
Cherry County Hospital is seeking a dedicated Infection Prevention & Safety Officer to lead our hospital-wide infection prevention, workplace safety, and emergency preparedness programs. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient safety, employee well-being, and quality care in a rural Critical Access Hospital.
Position Highlights- Lead infection prevention and workplace safety initiatives
- Coordinate the hospital's Emergency Preparedness Program
- Monitor compliance with CMS, CDC, OSHA, and accreditation standards
- Conduct safety rounds, infection surveillance, and staff education
- Collaborate with leadership and clinical departments to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement
- Prepare for regulatory surveys, audits, and inspections
Qualifications- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare, Public Health, Safety, or a related field
- Minimum of two years of experience in healthcare safety, infection prevention, quality, or risk management preferred
- Critical Access Hospital or rural healthcare experience preferred
- CIC, CHSP, CEPS, or similar certification preferred

Requirements:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing, healthcare, public health, safety, or related field required.

- Experience in a Critical Access Hospital or rural healthcare environment preferred.
- Health and safety-related certification (e.g., CIC, CHSP, CEPS, or other relevant credential) preferred.
