Essential Responsibilities


  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children

  • Stay actively engaged in children’s learning and development

  • Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans

  • Provide support and collaboration with fellow staff members

  • Maintain classrooms in compliance with all applicable regulations and standards

  • Serve as a positive role model for children through actions and appearance

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and inviting learning environment indoors and outdoors

  • Communicate effectively with team members and families

  • Keep the Director informed about important information regarding children’s care and safety

  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, center events, and family meetings

Job Requirements & Qualifications


  • A genuine love for working with children

  • High School Diploma required

  • Ability to pass local and FBI background checks

  • Experience working with children birth to four years old

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to actively participate in the classroom while ensuring health and safety standards are met or exceeded

  • Desire to continue professional development in the Early Childhood field

  • Completion of 45 hours of Department of Children and Families (DCF) childcare training

  • DCF Staff Credential preferred but not required



Preferred Certifications


  • CPR Certification

  • Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification
