Infant & Toddler Assistant Teacher
The Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in providing safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care for children birth to 2½ years old.
Qualifications
- CDA or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- 2 years of infant/toddler experience preferred.
- Knowledge of child development and positive guidance.
- CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain.
- Must meet state licensing and background check requirements.
- Professional appearance required; visible facial piercings are not permitted during work hours.
Responsibilities
- Assist with curriculum, activities, and daily classroom routines.
- Maintain active supervision and ensure children's safety.
- Support feeding, diapering, toileting, naps, and transitions.
- Promote children's social, emotional, language, cognitive, and physical development.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom.
- Communicate respectfully with families and staff.
- Complete required documentation and follow program and licensing requirements.
- Attend required meetings and training.
- Work cooperatively with the Lead Teacher and administration.
Physical Requirements
- Lift children up to 40 pounds.
- Bend, kneel, sit, stand, and participate in indoor/outdoor activities.
Schedule
- Full-time; reliable attendance and punctuality required.
- Bilingual skills preferred.
