Job Title: Infant Program Assistant (Part-Time), Lealman YMCA Preschool Academy

Description: In this role, you'll help create a fun, engaging, and safe environment where children can grow and learn while upholding the YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring. Duties:

  • Help provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children
  • Support lead teachers with daily activities and classroom supervision
  • Foster the YMCA's core values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring
  • Assist with implementing curriculum and guiding structured and free play activities
  • Promote positive behavior and help maintain classroom routines
  • Attend to children's basic needs including meals, rest, and outdoor play
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and family engagement events

Requirements:

  • 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • CDA credential or equivalent preferred
  • Completion of DCF MODS (Introductory Child Care Training, Parts 1 & 2)
  • 1+ year of experience working with children in a developmental setting
  • Able to work with infants, toddlers, and young children both indoors and outdoors
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, talk, hear, and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Must be comfortable participating in activities and engaging physically with children
  • Vision requirements include close/distance vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
  • Pass a 10-panel drug screen.
  • Clear a Level 2 background check*
