    Position Overview

    We are seeking an Industry Development Manager - Water & Wastewater to drive strategic growth, market penetration, and industry alignment for the company's industrial software portfolio, including the GENESIS automation software platform, within municipal and industrial water sectors. This role will serve as the subject matter expert for the water industry, aligning product capabilities with sector-specific needs such as regulatory compliance, asset management, energy optimization, operational resilience, and digital utility transformation.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Define and execute the water and wastewater industry strategy to support growth, market penetration, and solution alignment.
    • Support marketing with industry-specific messaging, positioning, and content that reflects the needs of municipal utilities and industrial water operators.
    • Build and strengthen a partner ecosystem with system integrators, EPCs, technology vendors, and industry stakeholders.
    • Track pipeline, revenue, win-rate, and growth metrics for the water and wastewater segment.
    • Serve as the internal subject matter expert for use-case driven solutions for product marketing and marketing communications (ex. monitoring, leak detection, energy optimization, compliance, asset management, operational resilience, and others).
    • Serve as the external subject matter expert to support sales teams, partner engagement, customer conversations, and deal strategy.
    • Align product roadmap priorities with water and wastewater industry requirements and emerging digital utility needs.
    • Develop customer references, case studies, and proof points that demonstrate value in municipal and industrial water environments.
    • Represent the company at industry events, such as AWWA and WEFTEC, and identify and participate in relevant, external facing market development activities.
    • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities and improve industry positioning.

    Required Qualifications/Certifications

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, business, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced business experience preferred.
    • 7-12 years of related experience in the water and wastewater industry in operations, consulting, contracting and construction, industrial automation, industrial software, business development, product marketing, or solution consulting.
    • Proven ability to support complex B2B, enterprise, utility, and public-sector sales or procurement cycles.
    • Experience with SCADA, HMI, automation, analytics, cloud platforms, or industrial software solutions preferred.

    Technical Skills

    • Strong knowledge of water and wastewater operations, including water treatment, distribution systems, and utility infrastructure.
    • Familiarity with SCADA, HMI, industrial automation, analytics, and industrial software platforms.
    • Understanding of smart water, digital utility transformation, regulatory compliance, reporting, asset management, energy optimization, and operational resilience.
    • Ability to translate technical capabilities into business value for technical, executive, partner, and public-sector audiences.
    • Strong strategic planning, business development, market research, and competitive analysis skills.
    • Ability to influence cross-functional teams, prioritize growth opportunities, and operate both strategically and tactically.
    • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS preferred.

    • Growth in water sector pipeline and revenue.
    • Expansion of strategic partnerships across system integrators, EPCs, technology vendors, and industry organizations.
    • Improved win rates and stronger deal strategy support for water and wastewater opportunities.
    • Development of strong customer references, case studies, and industry proof points.
    • Clear influence on product alignment with water and wastewater industry needs.

    Location & Travel

    • Based in Foxborough, MA or remote with periodic travel to headquarters
    • Travel required (some international, approximately 15-20% of time).
