Industrial Wet‑Coat Finishing Technician
Location: Kentwood, MI
Pay: $17–21/hr, depending on experience
Picture your shift starting in a spotless booth. You review the job ticket, check each part for defects, mix the right color to spec, and lay down a clean, even wet coat. Your day-to-day
- Inspect products prior to painting to confirm they meet quality standards.
- Apply wet‑coat paint finishes in a dedicated paint booth.
- Prepare parts for paint, including washing and surface prep.
- Accurately mix paints according to specifications.
- Perform quality checks, including adhesion testing and finish inspections.
- Maintain paint equipment, keep the booth clean, and organize the department.
- Follow all safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
- Help identify and troubleshoot paint application issues.
What you bring
- 1+ year of paint booth experience (preferred).
- Hands-on experience painting aluminum products is highly preferred (non‑robotic/non‑production line painting).
- Familiarity with Sherwin‑Williams paint systems or similar coatings is a plus.
- Understanding of color management and paint mixing processes.
- Ability to use testing equipment and interpret paint quality standards.
- Basic computer skills.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Sharp attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
