EHC is currently looking for an Industrial Valve Engineer for a client in the south Houston, TX area.
Summary:
The Valve Engineer is responsible for the selection, design support, specification, testing, and maintenance of industrial valves and associated actuators used in piping systems. The role ensures valves meet project, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements while supporting engineering, procurement, and operations teams.
Requirements:
- Select and specify valves (e.g., gate, globe, ball, butterfly, control, safety/relief) based on process conditions and applicable standards
- Review project requirements, P&IDs, data sheets, and specifications related to valves and actuators
- Prepare and review valve datasheets, material specifications, and technical documentation
- Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers on technical clarifications, quotations, and compliance
- Support inspection, testing, and quality assurance activities (FAT, SAT, pressure testing)
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME, ISO)
- Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and operation
- Assist in troubleshooting valve performance or failure issues
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to valve performance and reliability
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
- 10+ year of experience in valve engineering, piping, or mechanical systems (experience level may vary)
- Familiar with 3D modeling and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of industrial valve types, materials, and actuation methods
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes
