Industrial Quality Assurance Manager – ASME/AWS Compliance

    • Do you love turning complex codes and specifications into clear, actionable quality plans?
    • Are you energized by shop walks, weld inspections, and collaborating with project teams to prevent defects before they happen?
    • Can you navigate drawings, P&IDs, and inspection records as easily as you lead a root-cause investigation?

    Why this role matters

Every weld, every fit, and every mechanical install must perform as designed. You will be the quality authority ensuring our fabricated components, piping, structural assemblies, and equipment installations meet customer requirements and industry standards such as AWS, ASME, ASTM, and ISO.

    What you’ll do

    • Own the QA/QC framework: draft, implement, and sustain procedures and project quality plans.
    • Conduct in-process, final, and field inspections across fabrication, manufacturing, and construction.
    • Review and approve drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and customer quality deliverables.
    • Verify compliance through hands-on inspection of welds, mechanical equipment, piping, and structural steel.
    • Oversee welding quality controls, including WPS/PQR adherence and welder qualifications.
    • Plan and coordinate testing and inspections, including NDT, with internal and third-party resources.
    • Keep meticulous records: inspection reports, certifications, MTRs, and full material traceability.
    • Identify nonconformances, issue/manage NCRs, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
    • Lead root-cause investigations using data and cross-functional collaboration.
    • Interface daily with Project Managers, Engineering, Production, Construction, vendors, and customers.
    • Audit suppliers and vendors to confirm alignment with our quality expectations.
    • Maintain calibration and control of measurement and inspection equipment.
    • Support and host customer/third-party inspections and audits.
    • Track quality from kickoff through final testing, inspection, and project closeout.
    • Promote continuous improvement and quality awareness throughout operations and with subcontractors.

    What you bring

    • Substantial QA/QC experience in industrial, manufacturing, fabrication, mechanical, or construction settings.
    • Prior leadership or quality management experience (preferred).
    • Strong knowledge of fabrication and construction workflows.
    • Direct experience with welding, piping, structural steel, mechanical systems, or related disciplines.
    • Ability to interpret prints, fabrication drawings, specs, and P&IDs.
    • Understanding of inspection techniques, documentation, and material traceability processes.
    • Familiar with AWS, ASME, ASTM, ISO standards (plus).
    • Track record managing NCRs, CAPA, and root-cause methodologies.
    • Detail-focused communicator with strong problem-solving skills.
    • Comfortable with Microsoft Office and electronic quality/document control platforms.

    Bonus points

AWS CWI, NDT credentials, ISO quality systems experience, ASME standards expertise, welding/mechanical inspection background, or industrial fabrication experience.
